We wanted to combine the more unorthodox use of colour in Cape Town with the very efficient use of space we came to love in Amsterdam. Every space needed a specific purpose and a separate but related experience. This approach is exemplified in commissioned staircase having the theme "Stairway to Heaven." Interior Designer and friend, Sammy Zayed repurposed framed mirrors previously used at an infamous members-only speak easy in Vienna with three colours of paint he blended by hand. The two tones of green combine beautifully with the blue ceiling inspired by the powder blue Alpine sky. Walking up stairs being an experience is usually reserved for grand ballrooms at the expense of tons of marble. It seems than ingenuity can also do the trick.
We love to host our guests! Our home has been curated with the aim to make you feel at home. Being busy travellers ourselves, we aimed to create a space that welcomes and makes you feel at ease once you have arrived at your vacation home. We have sourced unique pieces of furniture, from second hand markets in Vienna and Cape Town, auction houses and museum pieces directly from designers, such as Marco Dessi. The furniture is complemented by our art collection, where we stage works by reknowned Belgian street artist Roa and Viennese favourites Clemens Wolf, LIVIL and Markus Schinwald. They are combined with lesser known but remarkable works by Georgian street artist, Dr. Love and South African photographer, Albert Retief and artist Andel de Beer. Luxury and relaxation is usually based on large amounts of space and expense. The same effect is created through bringing multiple experiences into one space. Colour, flow and lighting is used to achieve this. Every room is a separate colour-coded statement but bought together through the use of rich red curtains usually used in theater backdrops instead of doors. Lighting is expertly done by a company that usually does lighting for high-end cosmetic stores. During night time the lighting replaces the mountain backdrops to set the mood for intimate dinners with friends.
Kitzbuhel is synonymous with the sport and lifestyle of skiing. From the legendary Hahnenkamm race to bumping into a royal on the slopes or The Londoner during apres ski. Besides its glamorous appearance, Kitzbühel has a lot to offer. Take a hike or a bike-ride in the beautiful mountains, play on one of the golf courses or just enjoy a shopping tour through the town, where local shop owners have made sure that you will enrich your wardrobe with unique pieces.
As a local, I and my partner Gys set out to contribute something new to my home-town Kitzbuhel. To achieve this, we called on Sammy Zayed. He usually applies his stark graphic aesthetic to styling film sets and advertisements. His instinctive knack for setting scenes and telling stories translates beautifully into interior design.
The ability to juxtapose completely opposing forces to create balance is a rare skill. This is complimented with a keen eye and ability to source unique pieces of furniture. Second hand markets in Vienna and Cape Town, auction houses and sourcing museum pieces directly from designers are a few of the sources. This has lead to flea market items being used in conjuntion with Eames chairs previously owned by Helmut Lang and limited edition pieces, from the likes of Marco Dessi, whose counterparts form parts of modern design museum collections. Unorthodox touches like leather covered windowsills knocks in the point that this is a uniquely curated space.
Taking our origins into account, we wanted to create a space that reflects our experiences as travellers, art and design lovers, a space that welcomes and is a source for creativity. In a world of uninspired minimalism, over the top garishness or bourgeoise reinterpretations of tradition our space in Kitzbuhel can be compared to your eccentric best friend. One of a kind, authentic, honest and unpredictable in the best way possible.

You can use the parking space in the middle of the covered parking area. In addition, there is guest parking next to the house available.
The Pink Millenial Room has a King Sized Bed, the Blue Room has a Queen Bed. In addition, there is a couch in the Blue Room.
We stock a small inhouse Bar, so that our guests dont have to run for a glass of wine or beer, if they dont feel like it.
Our house is located very centrally in Kitzbühel. It is a 10 min walk from the main station, 5 min walk to the Ring-Bus leaving from the Horn Gondola and going around Town or to the Hahnenkamm Station.
You dont need to worry about packing additional housing appliances, bed sheets or spices. Come, relax and the amazing views to the Hahnenkamm and the southern mountains. The rest is already taken care of.
